Aggiungi una bellissima laguna con canali, ponti ed isole boscheggianti, aggiungi il lago Michagan che grande come il mare e piu azzuro del vero, ne bagna tutto un lato, aggiungi cielo in generale splendido e dei tramonti magnifici che arrossano il bianco degli edifici e tu potrai farti un’idea del perche io dica che dal lato artistico quest, esposizione mi pare estieticamente riuscita cio riuscita in quella parte in cui gli americani sono in genere inferiori a noi. Viceversa quando si entra all’interno degli edifizi questo godimento artistico in parte scompare. Il ferro con tanta cura celato od innestanto artisticamente all’esterno si mostra all’interno e non si mostra bene. Le allerie paionon troppo basse per la loro area; non sempre la luce entra con l’abbondanza desiderabile; le arcate non sono abbastanza snelle; gli oggetti esposti sono messi un po’ alla rinfusa, senza molto ordine e non tutte le merci fanno la figura che dovrebbero fare. Naturalmente non ti parlero di tutti gli edifici visitati e veramente a molte cose che mi interessavano mediocremente non feci che dare una guardata molto superficiale.

The ironwork so carefully hidden or artistically grafted on the outside, you go from the outside to the inside and it doesn’t show well. The galleries seem too low for their size, there is not always as much light as you would want, the arches are not narrow enough, the exhibits are laid out in a bulky way, without much order and not all the goods look the way they should. [Naturally, I’m not talking about all the buildings I’ve seen, and really I’ve seen a lot of things that don’t interest me much and don’t do well when you give them a superficial look?]
